Tap Inspect can let you know when something important happens on your account, like a new job booked from your web scheduler, an invoice getting paid, or a message that couldn't be delivered. Notification Settings let you choose which of these you hear about and how.
Each notification can be sent as an Email, a Push notification to your phone or tablet, both, or neither.
Before You Begin
- Notification Settings are personal to you. Each person on your team manages their own, and changing yours won't affect anyone else.
- Email notifications go to the email address on your User Profile.
- Push notifications are delivered to the Tap Inspect mobile app. You'll need to be signed into the app, and notifications for Tap Inspect need to be allowed in your device's settings.
Open Notification Settings
You can change your Notification Settings from the mobile app or your web account. It's the same screen in both places, so any change you make in one shows up in the other.
Tap Inspect Mobile App
- Open the Tap Inspect mobile app on your device.
- Tap your Profile Image in the top right corner of the screen to open your Settings.
- Tap Notification Settings.
Tap Inspect Web Account
- Sign into your web account.
- Tap your Profile Image in the top right corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Notification Settings.
Choose How You're Notified
Every notification has two checkboxes, Email and Push.
- Check Email to get that notification by email.
- Check Push to get that notification on your mobile device.
- Clear both boxes to stop receiving that notification altogether (except Billing emails, which are always sent).
- Tap Save Changes at the bottom of the screen.
Available Notifications
Scheduling
- New job booked via web scheduler – A client or agent booked a job through your Web Scheduler.
- Job assigned to me – A job was assigned to you.
Job Activity
- Job results picked up by recipient – Someone you shared the results with opened them from the Client Portal.
- Message delivery failure – An email or text to a client or agent couldn't be delivered, usually because of a bad email address or phone number.
- Invoice paid – A client paid an invoice.
- Agreement signed – A client signed an agreement.
- Inbound SMS received – Someone replied to one of your text messages.
Third-party Integrations
- Integration failure or attention needed – One of your connected integrations stopped working or needs you to take action.
Billing
- Pay as you go plan notifications – Updates about usage and billing on a Pay As You Go plan.
Note: Billing emails can't be turned off. Because they affect your account and subscription, we'll always send them by email. You can still turn push notifications for billing on or off.
Tips
- We recommend leaving Message delivery failure and Integration failure or attention needed turned on. These usually mean something needs your attention before a client misses a report, agreement, or invoice.
- If you're expecting a push notification and it doesn't arrive, check that notifications for Tap Inspect are turned on in your device's settings and that you're signed into the app with the same account.
- Not seeing email notifications? Check your junk or spam folder, and confirm the email address on your User Profile.
