Once a Payments account is closed, it can't be reopened. If you'd like to start accepting online payments through Autopilot again, you'll need to apply for a new Payments account. Our support team can turn that on for you.
How to Tell Your Payments Account Is Closed
Go to the Payments settings page of your web account. If your account is closed, you'll see a red banner that says:
Your payments account has been closed. If you would like to resume using payments, contact technical support to reapply.
A Payments account can be closed if you closed it yourself, or if your Tap Inspect subscription was canceled.
Before You Begin
You need an active Tap Inspect subscription to use Payments. If you also see a yellow banner that says "Online payments are currently not available because you do not have an active subscription," click Manage Your Subscription in that banner to get your subscription active again first. See Reactivate a Canceled Subscription for help.
Reapply for Payments
- Contact Tap Inspect Support and let us know you'd like to reapply for Payments.
- We'll confirm your subscription is active and turn on reapplying for your team. We'll let you know once it's ready.
- Go to the Payments settings page of your web account and complete the application. It's the same process you went through the first time. See Set Up Tap Inspect Payments for a walkthrough.
What to Expect
- It's a brand-new account. You'll get a new merchant account number and will need to enter your business and bank details again.
- Your application may need to be verified. Most applications are approved quickly, but sometimes our payment processor asks for extra verification. If that happens, you'll see a note on your Payments settings page.
- Your past payments are kept. Transactions and statements from your previous Payments account are still kept in our system.
- Standard limits apply. New accounts start with the default processing limits. If you need more, see Requesting Higher Payments Limits.
NOTE: If you just want to hide the Pay Now button for a while, you don't need to close your account. You can disable Payments instead and turn it back on any time.
