Messaging allows you to select and send a series of automated messages to the people involved in a Job. Each section is related to different parts of Autopilot.
Messages are sent automatically when certain events occur in the lifecycle of a job. The Sharing section of the Messaging page is present in every account. More sections are present if you are using the Autopilot back office features..
The default Sharing messages work well for most people. As a best practice you want to use them for a bit before making any changes.
There are three different messages. They are sent to each person in the job that has access to view reports what a sharing trigger occurs.
The Results Available message is sent when you initially share the results of a job. The Results Updated message is sent when you tap Share Updated Results from the Share tab of a previously shared job.
The New Attachment Added is sent when an attachment such as a Radon test results or lab results is attached to the job after it has been shared. Coming soon!
Edit Message
Tap on any message. The Edit Message page lets you define the content and behavior of a specific message.
Control when a message is sent by choosing the most appropriate Trigger. Control who receives this message by choosing Everyone With Access or only specific roles from the Deliver To menu. If you want to send this message to a specific email address every time (such as a third-party vendor) you may specify that in the Also CC To.
You can insert special placeholders into the subject and body of the message that will automatically be replaced by values from the job. Place the cursor in the body of the message and choose the appropriate option from the Insert Values menu.
Emails will include the organization signature you have defined under your Company Profile. Teams can optionally choose to sign specific emails with the inspector's signature.
Subject
The subject of the email can also include job values listed in the Insert Values but they must me manually copied or typed into the subject.
Body
The body of the email message can include job values listed in the Insert Values.
The best practice is to use the {{recipient.full_name}} rather than the specific role tags.
