Services are the basic building block of scheduling a job in Autopilot. They are what tells Autopilot how to behave when you are providing that service for a client on a job.
You need to have at least one Service to select from before you can schedule a new autopilot job. So let's get started adding your first service.
This is the third step of getting Autopilot up and running in your account.
- Step 1: Complete Your User and Company Profiles
- Step 2: Take the Autopilot Quick Tour
- Step 3: Setup Your First Service
- Step 4: Next Steps to Customize Autopilot
What is a Service
A service is something that a client can hire you to perform for them for a price.
Each service is made up of four parts.
- Service Information like the name of the service, a longer description of the service, and how long it takes to perform the service.
- The Templates you want used to create a new report for the client as part of the service.
- An Agreements you want the client to sign before you deliver the report for the service
- Price information of how to calculate a price for performing this service so it can be added to an invoice.
Most services result in the delivery of a report and require the client to sign an agreement. But that is not always the case. A service could be as simple as a just a name and a price such as a flat fee for 'Travel outside regular service area'.
Setup the Residential Home Inspection Service
To help you get started we have built a service wizard to help guide you thought adding a Residential Home Inspection service to your account. Most of it has already been set up for you. All you need to do is select your template and add an agreement and it'll be ready to use.
The Service Information has already been filled out for you. It has a title, description, and an appointment duration of 3 hours.
Under Templates tap Add Template to see a list of templates in your account. Select the template from the list of your templates to use for a residential home inspection by tapping it to add a check mark. Then tap Add Selections.
Under Agreements tap Add Agreement to see a list of agreements in your account. We've already added a Sample Home Inspection Agreement to give you an idea of how things work but you can always go back and add another agreement later. Tap Sample Home Inspection Agreement to add a check mark and tap Add Selections to add it to the service.
The Price for the Residential Home Inspection service has been set up with a pretty standard pricing structure for home inspections for you. There is a base price that increases as the square foot of the property increases above some minimum size. You can use the default pricing calculator or come back later to modify it to fit your needs.
When you're all set tap Save Changes and your Residential Home Inspection service is ready to use in a new job.
Now you can move on to Step 4: Next Steps to Customize Autopilot to see the workflow in action.
