Scheduling a sample Autopilot job will give you a real-world example of how all the Autopilot pieces fit together.
There are typically four steps to scheduling a job with Autopilot.
- Selecting the services that the customer orders.
- Adding the job information like the address, details of the property to price the job, and the date/time of the job.
- Adding the people and contact information for the client and agents involved with the job.
- Confirming the job once you have verified access and the date and time with interested parties.
These steps do not need to be done all at once. You can start scheduling a job, come back later to add people, and then confirm the job later. Autopilot is designed to work with how you schedule your jobs in the real world.
Before You Begin
You will also want to find a real house to use for your sample job. We find that searching for a Zillow listing near you will give you a typical home you would inspect with a real address. Open one of the listings and it will come in very handy when scheduling the job.
Schedule a Sample Job
While you are signed into your web account, tap Jobs in the top blue title bar to go to the Jobs calendar. Then tap New Job to start the new job workflow.
Select the Services for the Job
- Tap Residential Home Inspection service on your list of services
- Tap Add Selections to continue.
Add the Job Information
- Start entering the address from the Zillow listing, and it will autocomplete for you.
- Enter the square feet of the home from the Zillow listing to calculate a price. You can also manually change the price to whatever you like.
- Choose a date and time for the job.
- Tap Create Job
You now have a 'Tentative' job for that address to perform the selected services. You will see the agreement that is attached to the service and also a price for the service that will be used when the invoice is generated.
Add People to the Job
You want to add at least a client by tapping on Add Person on the People tile. You can manually enter the details for a person or search your Tap Inspect Contacts to find a person.
For this sample, use your own personal email address or search for the Demo Dan contact that is included in most Tap Inspect accounts. Tap Add Person to add to the job. You can add another person, like a Buyer’s or Seller’s agent, if you like.
Confirm the Job
When a new Autopilot job is created it is in a 'Tentative' state until you manually confirm the job. You can see the Tentative status as a tag that is visible on the job in the Job calendar and in the job details page.
Confirming a job in Autopilot tells Tap Inspect that you are all finished adding job information and scheduling. You are confirming the job is ready to go.
When you have all the services and people added to the job tap Confirm Job.
The reports for the selected services and an invoice are created for the job. Any messages in your Messaging settings that are triggered by the Confirm Job event are also queued and sent.
