Condition ratings give you the ability report the condition of the items in your report checklist.
In this article you will learn the basics of condition ratings and how they can be used in your reports.
Things to Know
Here are some key things to know about condition ratings.
- Condition ratings are part of the template/report.
- They can enabled or disabled for every template/report.
- The same list of conditions is used through the entire template/report.
- Conditions are only available in multiple choice items.
What are the Condition Ratings?
Condition ratings are a defined list of options that let you report the condition of an item. They are displayed in multiple choice items of your report checklist.
The default Tap Insect templates use the following conditions.
- Satisfactory
- Marginal
- Repair or Replace
- Further Evaluation Required
When Condition Ratings are enabled for a report they are displayed in each multiple choice item unless the item has been flagged to Prohibit Condition Ratings. This comes in handy what a multiple choice item is the most efficient way to record information but rating the condition of the item does not make sense. For example, when recording the direction the Door Faces a multiple choice list of directing is very handy but rating the condition of the direction does not make sense.
Using Condition Ratings
Using the condition ratings is just like recording the options of any other checklist item. Our default templates that have condition ratings enabled also Require Condition Ratings For Items To Be Considered Complete enabled.
This prevents a section of your checklist from indicating that all items have been recorded until you have selected a description of the item and also selected a condition of the item. You can see which item is missing a condition rating by opening the section. The incomplete item will display 'Condition: ?' in red to draw your attention.
Defining and Controlling the Condition Ratings
The conditions of the list are customizable and are defined in the Report Options under Condition Rating Options. There is no way to specify a different list per item. The same list of conditions are used throughout the report.
