It happens, especially on busy days with back-to-back inspections. If you entered an inspection in the wrong job's report, you don't need to start over. You can copy everything (checklist items, comments, and photos) into the correct job, then give the other job a fresh report.
Step 1: Import the data into the correct job
Before you start, open the job that has the data in it and scroll through its Inspect tab. This makes sure your device has synced all the data and photos. Then go back to the Jobs Dashboard.
- Open the correct job (the one the data should be in) and go to its Inspect tab.
- Tap Edit in the top right corner.
- Tap the action button [ ... ] next to Report Options, then tap Import Report Data.
- Tap From Another Job, search for the address of the job where you entered the data by mistake, and select it.
- Tap the report that has your inspection data.
- When the import finishes, tap Done.
Depending on how many photos you have, this can take a few minutes. Check that everything came over before moving on to Step 2.
For more detail, see Import Report Data From Another Report.
Step 2: Give the other job a clean report
The job where you entered the data by mistake still has that data in it. To get it ready for its own inspection:
- Trash the report that has the misplaced data. See Trash a Report from a Job.
- Add a new blank report. See Add a New Report to a Job.
A trashed report isn't deleted right away, so you can restore it if you need to.
Tip: If you already shared the report from the wrong job with a client or agent, contact us before you trash it so we can help you sort out what they received.
