Tap Inspect provides a few different ways to reuse the data you collected from one job in a different one. This can be handy, so you do not need to re-enter all the same information if you are inspecting the same property again.
You can:
- Import the data from a report into a new report.
- Copy a full report from another job into a new job.
They are different ideas that result in different outcomes. What is the difference?
Import Report Data
Importing the data from another report is a way to fill the checklist and comments on the current report without having to record the information again.
You can import data from a report in your current job or another job.
Keep in mind that the source and destination reports must have the same checklist items and sections. Otherwise, you may not get all the information you expected. Also, importing report data will not import your Report Options. Once the data is imported into your current report, you can change it as you like.
If you make lots of changes to your report structure on a job-by-job basis, this may not be the best idea for you.
Copy Report From Another Job
Copying a report from another job to add a new report full of the observations you recorded in another job.
This can be just as handy as importing report data, but you get a full report added to the list of reports in the destination job.
You do not have to worry about if the sections and items of the target report. You get a whole new report with the Report Options, checklist, comments, and photos.
This is much more effective when inspecting a home for a different client than importing report data. It leaves the original job intact. Just update what needs to be updated in the new job and share your results.
