Many inspectors like to add diagrams and illustrations to their reports. This can help explain the way things should be done or to help educate their clients.
With Tap Inspect, you can add any image from the Photos Library of your device into a comment or to inspection items. We recommend creating an Album in your Photo Library for each Category of diagrams or illustration and then uploading those images from you library into the Photo Library
For many people the next question is 'How do I get my diagrams onto my device?'
Using iCloud.com to Manage your Photos
Apple provides a website at icloud.com that lets you manage you iCloud data. Just log in with the same email and password you use for your Apple Id and you are all set. Once you are in you can manage all you iCloud data.
Enable iCloud Photos on Your Device
The first step is to make sure you are using 'iCloud Photos' on your device. Open the Settings app and go into the iCloud settings on your device by tapping on your name. Then tap on iCloud and then Photos. Make sure iCloud Photos is turned on.
That will allow your device and iCloud to synchronize your Photos.
Upload your Diagrams or Illustrations to iCloud
In your web browser at iCloud.com, tap on Photos to manage your photos. The first step is to upload your photos. It is assumed that you know when on your local machine you have the diagrams and illustrations saved. Make sure you know where that is.
Click on the cloud icon with an arrow along the top row of the Photos screen on iCloud.com.
This will open a file chooser dialog that will let you navigate to the directory with your diagrams and illustrations. You can select multiple files at one to upload them all at once.
Create a New Album for Each Category of Images
Trying to find that on diagram or illustrations can be tough so you will want to organize them into Albums. Each category you need like plumbing, electrical, attic, roof framing, can be its own Album.
To create a new album on icloud.com you select the photos you want to add, tap on the + icon on the top menu bar, and then give your new album a name.
That will add all these images into your new album.
Use Diagrams or Illustrations in Tap Inspect
It may take a few minutes for your device to fully synchronize with iCloud. If you want to check you can open the Photos app and tap on Albums. You should see the album you just created.
Now you can select any of these images just like you would select any other photo when doing a Tap Inspect report. Tap on Add Photo in the comment editor or from an item and navigate into the Album you need. Browse through the images and select one or more to add into your report.
