InterNACHI Narrative Library

For new and inexperienced home inspectors, a prebuilt library of comment narratives can be very reassuring. We have teamed up with Kenton Shepard to make his InterNACHI Narrative Library available for use in Tap Inspect.

The InterNACHI Narrative Library includes over 7000 comments. There are also reference sections to help new and experienced inspectors.

We have also built a custom InterNACHI Inspection companion template that uses the same section and item names as the categories as the Tap Inspect version of the InterNACHI Narrative Library. That lets you drill down into a report and browse comments that are available for that specific item.

Getting the InterNACHI Narrative Library

Once you have purchased the InterNACHI Narrative Library just send your receipt to info@tapinspect.com along with the email address used for your Tap Inspect account. The format of the library is not important but we do suggest the MS WORD version. That version is browsable on any computer and it makes using the reference material much easier.

Once we have received your copy of the purchase receipt we will upload the Tap Inspect version of the InterNACHI Narrative Library and also the custom InterNACHI Inspection companion template.

The contents of the InterNACHI Narrative Library will REPLACE the current Saved Comments in your Tap Inspect account. We will archive you Saved Comments and can put them back if desired. There is no way to merge or unmerge your current Saved Comments and the InterNACHI Narrative Library.

Browsing the InterNACHI Narrative Library

By using the Saved Comments Library Web Editor in your Tap Inspect web account you can manually browse, view, and edit the Library. This may be the easiest method to see the entire library all in one place.

Using the InterNACHI Inspection Template

The companion template will be listed in the New Inspection screen with the other templates in your account. Keep in mind that this is not one of our default templates. If you delete or make mistakes when modifying it you will not be able to install a new pristine copy. Contact info@tapinspect.com and we will be able to do it for you.

The InterNACHI template includes several hidden sections and items. Many more than our default templates. This is so you can show and hide what you need in your area.

The section and item names of the template also match up to the same categories you see in the Saved Comments Library Web Editor. Be careful when changing the section, item, or category names. They must be exactly the same in both the template and the Saved Comments library for them to be displayed as a list in the app.
