Comments are Here to Save the Day
Your template checklist can be great to record and describe most things, but something unusual almost always pops up or doesn't quite fit into the checklist format. With Tap Inspect, just tap on the Add Comment button at the top of any section to help record it.
A Comment is More than Just Some Words
While a comment does usually include some text it can be much, much more. A comment can include a single sentence, a paragraph or two, photos or even technical diagrams. They can be extremely flexible and are there to help you report what is important to you.
What are some things you can do with comments?
- Record equipment data with a photo of the equipment and of the data plate.
- Give an overview of a property with elevation photos.
- Provide a standard 'canned' statement describing something.
- Detailed description of an issue with a diagram showing the correct way
- Describe repair and cost estimates with a photo of the problem.
Record it Once and Save it for Later
Whenever you type and save a new comment you are asked if you want to save it to you comment library. This is a very powerful feature and can save tons of time.
Did you add a comment and can't remember where you saved it? Use the search bar at the top of the comment editor to search your entire library of comments no matter where you first saved it.
Deficiency vs Informational Comments
Each comment must be flagged as one or the other. Other than the little icon what is the difference? Both types of comments are displayed in the section they were recorded but deficiency comments are also repeated on the Report Summary (if it is displayed). This helps you make sure the most important comments are displayed on the Report Summary.
